A short drive up Midland Avenue brings you to Old Town, nestled at the base of a mountainside. This part of Basalt is where small town and local feel collide with a modern touch. Take a stroll down Midland Avenue and find local boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, and historical attractions. Not far, the local middle school, post office, and library are located. Up the road is Reudi Reservoir, known as the valley’s favorite summer day escape. In the summertime boating, fishing, and camping are the main attractions. Road biking and mountain biking are also very prevalent in the area. There is Gold Medal water with both the Roaring Fork River and Frying Pan River colliding at the center of town, warranting fly fishing very popular amongst visitors and locals. With Aspen just a 15-minute away, world-class skiing is a close-by getaway.
