When people ask me why I chose to build my life and career in Vail, my answer is always the same: it is not just where you stay — it is how you feel when you are here.
Vail has a way of slowing you down, opening your senses, and reminding you what a well-lived life actually looks like. This is the same Vail I share with close friends, longtime clients, and families who are considering making this valley part of their story.
If you have ever wondered what it truly feels like to live in Vail — not just visit — this is the experience.
DAY 1 — ARRIVING THE WAY VAIL INTENDED
A Seamless Welcome
Your Vail experience begins the moment you arrive. Whether you touch down at Eagle County Regional Airport or arrive by luxury SUV through the canyon, there is a sense of relief when the mountains come into view.
This ease is something my clients mention again and again — the feeling that once you arrive, everything simply flows.
Where I Recommend Staying
Vail has no shortage of beautiful places, but these are the ones I consistently recommend because they deliver both comfort and soul:
- Four Seasons Resort & Residences Vail – Thoughtful service, an exceptional ski concierge, and the kind of warmth that makes returning feel natural.
- Residence

- Solaris Residences – Quiet, private, and perfectly placed. If you value discretion and walk-everywhere living, this is hard to beat.

- The Arrabelle at Lionshead – Timeless European charm and true ski-in/ski-out convenience — especially loved by families.

A small but meaningful tip: If you can, choose a room or residence with a Vail Mountain view. The sunsets never get old. I still pause for them.
Evening: Settling In
After traveling, I always suggest easing into the evening. Start with a fireside cocktail at The Remedy Bar, then head to Matsuhisa Vail for dinner.

If you enjoy letting the chef guide the experience, ask about omakase. It is a reminder that some of the best moments in Vail are the ones you do not rush.
DAY 2 — THE VAIL THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE
Morning: The Back Bowls, Early and Quiet
There is a particular magic to Vail’s Back Bowls in the morning — wide open, peaceful, and powerful all at once.
Working with a private ski instructor or mountain guide allows you to experience this side of Vail at its best. This is the day I often see clients pause mid-run, take a breath, and say, “Now I understand.”
Après: Where the Heart of Vail Lives
When the skis come off, I always steer people toward places that feel authentic:
- The Red Lion — historic, lively, and unmistakably Vail

- Alpenrose — cozy, comforting, and full of locals who have been coming here for decades

Afternoon: Restoration at Altitude
One thing people underestimate about Vail living is how deeply wellness is woven into daily life. The Four Seasons Spa is a personal favorite for oxygen therapy, recovery massage, and rooftop hot tubs.
Dinner: Thoughtful and Refined
For dinner, I usually recommend Sweet Basil. This restaurant reflects Vail itself: confident, warm, and never trying too hard.

DAY 3 — LIVING THE VAIL LIFESTYLE
This is the day that feels most like home to me — the balance of movement, beauty, and connection.
Morning: Alpine Wellness Rituals
Start your day with a sauna and cold plunge at Gravity Haus Vail or Dryland Fitness & Spa. It is invigorating, grounding, and very much part of modern life here.

Late Morning: Shopping With Soul
- Gorsuch for timeless alpine pieces

- Max Clothing for curated designer finds
- Kemo Sabe for custom hats and leather

Lunch: One of My Go-To Spots
Mountain Standard captures the essence of Vail perfectly with its wood-fired menu and creekside setting.

Evening: A Quiet Finish
End your final evening at Root & Flower. That familiarity is something I love about Vail.
Why I Share This With My Clients
This itinerary reflects how many of my clients live once they own here. As a local Vail real estate advisor, my role is deeply personal. I help people find not just the right property, but the right fit for their lifestyle.
Vail has a way of finding you when the time is right.
